Jan of Borotin 2026

Our goal is to organize a MEGA event in the premises of the Borotín Baroque Palace.

In 2023, the White Lady appeared within the walls of Borotín Castle, and now she is followed by the spirit of Jan of Borotín – a master of Prague's higher learning, rector of the Utraquist university, and contemporary of Jan Hus. Soon it will be 650 years since his birth in Borotín, and we wish to honor his memory, along with that of Jan Evangelista Kypta, the composer of many musical works.

So let us gather in a place most fitting – the encampment known as the Baroque Court of Borotín. May this court and its company delight not only our ears but also our taste buds, our eyes with objects of beauty and harmony, and surely all our other senses as well. Here you may also encounter astrologers, scholars of natural philosophy, alchemists, historians, or jesters. Should our limbs grow weary beyond what is bearable, there will be comfort and rest available in many forms, both during the day and throughout the nights before and after our gathering, until the next sunrise.

No one need fear a lack of drink in every variety, accompanied by food from the fields and from animals, served in countless ways. Living or iron horses can be set aside in the surroundings, or you may arrive with your own packs and beasts.

Every traveler will have the chance to take home trinkets or treasures, both small and precious, for their own delight and that of their companions. The young ones will surely enjoy the pastimes prepared for them, often demanding quick minds or nimble hands.

We will be glad if you let us know of your intent to visit our Borotín encampment in good time—whether you come from the east or the west, from the south or from the north.
